Hello, lovelies!
For today, I have a mini-review of Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree. I finished this book recently and enjoyed it so much that I couldn’t help not writing a quick review for it!

Viv, an orc, leaves behind the warrior life in search of something new and exciting. She sets out to start her own coffee shop in Thune, where they have never heard of coffee. What follows is one of the coziest fantasy stories I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading.
There is so much to love about this book! The fantasy elements are very well-done and add to the concept. The settings are oh-so-cozy and warm. All this paired with a charming cast of characters make for the best reading experience.
I found Viv to be an amazing protagonist. I loved watching her grow and make new connections. I truly felt I was with her every step of the way. And, the rest of the cast is so wonderful too! Tandri was definitely my favorite, along with Thimble. With this book, you can’t help but adore all the characters.
Oh, and the food! The author does an excellent job of showing us how Viv’s menu slowly grows, with delightful descriptions of the tastiest foods and drinks. I don’t think I’ve ever craved a warm cup of coffee — with a cinnamon roll, please — more than when I was reading this book.
All in all, if you’re looking for a wholesome, slice-of-life read, this is the one. And, just in time for the fall season, too!
I’d love to be a customer at Viv’s coffee shop and share a hot latte with the characters any day.
“The combined aromas of hot cinnamon, ground coffee, and sweet cardamom intoxicated her, and as she brewed and smiled and served and chatted, a deep contentment welled up. It was a glowing warmth she’d never experienced before, and she liked it. She liked it a great deal.”

Have you read this book? If so, I’d love to know your thoughts!
Thank you for reading this mini-review. I wish you all a very cozy day, with a delicious cup of coffee to keep you company! ☕️💗

Yay! I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed it. This book might be one of my favourites this year simply because its left such a lingering cosy feeling that I still feel whenever I think about the book. Thimble was the BEST but I loved how Viv slowly created this wonderful community surrounding her cafe—and no wonder, with the delicious coffees and scrumptious cinnamon rolls! 🤤 I read this in the middle of the night and had to immediately make a batch of rolls the next morning, lol.
yes, it was so amazing! it definitely gives that perfect cozy feeling. and i agree, seeing Viv make those connections was the best part. i can’t deal with how wholesome it all was! 🥹 and that sounds sooo yummy! i think making yourself a little treat after reading this book is a must, for sure. 🫶🏼
